Social Games and their role in the future of online gaming was the topic of most presentations at this years Game Developers Conference. Many believe that social gaming is still in its infancy and is set to change the way people interact over the interent, pulling people from chat rooms and bulletin boards into virtual worlds where they can use currencies like facebook poker chips and other virtual monetary replacements as a means to play games, decorate their homes, harvest crops, buy buildings, and just about any other virtual aspect of real life of a player can imagine.
The upcoming iPad also took center stage, as game developers like Playfish, Zynga, Playdom, Electronic Arts and others begin to look ahead to the future of mobile gaming devices.
